Workstation Standards
Committee Charge
The university continues to operate under tremendous budget constraints. Few if any baseline funds are available for information technology refresh. Often, one-time funds are used to purchase campus equipment for student, faculty and staff access to electronic resources which are well past end-of-life. Aggregating purchases of computer workstations and other equipment appears to provide a best practice to lower costs. As such, an ad hoc working group was approved by the President to develop standards and recommend purchasing cycles which would provide cost savings for the university as a whole.
